The Heeler Centre, Claire Hicks

Claire Hicks

Experienced Nutritional Therapist & Clinical Reflexologist (MAR)

Claire Hicks is a highly experienced practitioner in nutritional therapy and clinical reflexology, with nearly 30 years in private practice. She qualified with distinction from the Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College in 1996 and has supported clients with a wide range of health concerns ever since.

Claire is trained in functional medicine and uses functional testing where appropriate to help identify underlying causes and guide personalised recommendations.

For those who prefer to approach health in a more naturopathic way, Claire also offers iridology as an additional diagnostic tool.

Claire originally trained in reflexology in 1998 and later updated her qualification, becoming a full Member of the Association of Reflexologists (MAR) in 2021. Reflexology remains a core part of her work and is frequently chosen by clients seeking calm, restorative and hands-on support.

Unlike generic or AI-led health advice, Claire offers individual assessment, skilled touch and personalised care, drawing on decades of clinical experience.

Clinical Reflexology

Claire practises clinical reflexology and is able to treat a wide range of health problems using specific pressure point techniques and therapeutic foot massage.

Alongside supporting a client’s individual health concerns, treatments may also help to:

  • relieve stress and anxiety
  • boost energy and ease fatigue
  • Reflexology can also help to ease tension and pain in the feet, including discomfort caused by illness, stress or sports-related activities

Sessions with Claire are unhurried and tailored to the individual, with a strong focus on relaxation, balance and supporting the nervous system.

Aftercare advice and additional supportive measures can be offered when requested, with Claire drawing on her years of experience in complementary therapies, fitness and nutrition to provide a genuinely holistic approach.

Nutritional Therapy

Claire works with clients who want a practical, realistic approach to nutrition and treats a wide range of health problems. Her particular interests include:

  • digestive disorders
  • joint and inflammatory conditions
  • autoimmune-related issues
  • menopausal problems
  • weight management
  • Where appropriate, functional testing and laboratory analysis may be used to help identify root causes and support targeted, personalised care

Functional Testing

Claire uses functional testing where appropriate as part of her nutritional therapy work, helping to build a clearer understanding of underlying imbalances.

In most cases, test samples can be collected at home and returned to the laboratory for analysis. Results are usually available within a few weeks and presented in a clear, easy-to-understand format.

Alongside her detailed consultation and clinical assessment, Claire uses these results to design a personalised treatment programme tailored to the individual.

Examples of testing may include:

  • Stool testing for microbiome balance, SIBO, inflammation and digestive function
  • Saliva testing for adrenal stress and hormonal balance
  • Blood testing for thyroid function, food reactions and nutrient deficiencies
  • Hair mineral analysis to assess heavy metals
  • Functional testing allows Claire to combine scientific laboratory insight with a whole-person approach to health

Iridology

Iridology is offered as an additional diagnostic tool for clients who prefer a more naturopathic approach. By observing patterns in the iris, Claire uses iridology to gain further insight into overall health, alongside clinical assessment and laboratory testing where appropriate.

A Personal, Human Approach

Claire strongly believes in balance and practises what she promotes. Outside of work, she enjoys walking and cycling. Time outdoors plays an important role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
