Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a calming, hands-on therapy that originated in Japan. Meaning 'finger pressure', it uses gentle, sustained pressure along specific points of the body, combined with assisted stretching and joint mobilisation to help restore movement and ease tension.
Working through the muscles, fascia and connective tissue, Shiatsu helps improve circulation, release built-up tightness and encourage the body to relax and reset. It follows the body’s natural energy channels, often known as meridians, to support balance and overall wellbeing.
Both deeply relaxing and restorative, Shiatsu can be an excellent choice for those experiencing physical tension, stress or fatigue.
What Shiatsu may help with
Shiatsu is commonly used to support:
- Back, neck and shoulder tension
- Headaches and migraines
- Stress and anxiety
- Fatigue and low energy
- Postural tightness from work or sport
- Sleep difficulties
- Digestive discomfort and bloating
- General muscular tension
What to expect
Shiatsu is usually carried out fully clothed, so we recommend wearing soft, comfortable clothing.
Your therapist will use their fingers, thumbs, palms and forearms to apply steady pressure, gentle stretches and guided movement to different areas of the body.
Many clients leave feeling lighter, calmer and more balanced, with a noticeable sense of relaxation throughout the body.
