No matter how old you are, it is important to understand that no one is immune from back pain. Having a healthy posture is the first step to preventing any long-term back problems, and the Straighten Up UK campaign is ensuring you and you children take the necessary steps to a healthy posture!
Straighten Up UK is an exercise programme designed by the British Chiropractor Association in order to encourage balance, strength and flexibility of the spine. Two programmes have been designed, one for adults and the other for children.
The adult programme consists of easy exercises to practice good posture, along with easy tips to highlight the importance of keeping a healthy spine.
Things such as additional weight from handbag or briefcases, sitting at a desk for long periods of time and lack of exercise are all underlined.
Abby and Jake are characters from the children’s programme, designed to engage your little ones and encourage them to practice with you. Things such as sitting at a PC or games console, carrying a heavy school bag and wearing sensible footwear are brought to attention, with simple daily exercises.
