How long have you worked at The Heeler Centre?

I started at The Heeler Centre in August 2009.

Why did you choose your profession?

I came to the Heeler Centre when I was 12 years old because of an ongoing back problem which no one seemed to be able to help. I came in and saw Paul and within three sessions my back had no pain. I was hooked, I wanted to be able to do that! So I did, and here I am.

Now you might think that because Paul is an Osteopath, why did I choose Chiropractic? Simple. At that time you could only go to a private college to train to become an Osteopath and as a fresh-faced 18-year old I was desperate to go to university. Chiropractic, on the other hand, was offered as part of the University of Glamorgan at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. My father has seen both Osteopaths and Chiropractors throughout his life and has always felt there wasn’t a significant difference - either they were good or they weren’t. So I went and shadowed a Chiropractor, liked what I saw and it meant I could go to University (win-win!)

What do you most enjoy about your work?

Getting patients back on their feet and living their life again, as it should be. I know what it’s like to have an injury that keeps you from doing what you love and the relief it brings to leave it behind. That’s why I do this and so helping get patients the result they really want is the most satisfying part.

What are your specialisms?

The majority of my day is spent dealing with people who suffer from back pain, however, my passion is working with those who have sports injuries and are looking to get back to full health quickly. I also specialise in working with both amateur and professional athletes and sportspeople to improve peak performance through chiropractic.

When are you available?

Understandably many of my patients work full-time so I’m available from 8.30am to 6.30pm so you can get treated before or after work when it’s most convenient for you.

Do you accept insurance work?

Yes, I am registered with several insurers for chiropractic. If you have medical insurance, you will need to get a referral from your GP first.
