Starting 2019 With Confidence
Christmas can be stressful and the idea of New Year offers a chance to review and reflect upon our lives and think about some of the things we might want to be different.
Many of us commit to change; to change ourselves, our circumstances, our relationships, our jobs our way of life or our habits or anything else that comes to mind. Something that we have been unhappy about has finally made it to the top of the in-tray and has demanded our attention and our action.
Resolutions are made with positive intent and a real want to do what we have decided upon. We're all good at making resolutions, especially at New Year. Some of these are implemented without a problem, some perhaps are a little more challenging and things don't quite go to plan and some are downright difficult and are often the most important but end up being dropped or shelved. Life then, in the main, remains unchanged and to some extent we stay with what we know; we tolerate the things we'd rather change because the pain of change seems greater than the pain of staying put.
Counselling and psychotherapy are about helping people to help themselves; helping people to work out what they really want, what they really think and feel and if they decide they want to change then to help in that process as well.
The areas in which I work include relationship counselling, depression, stress and anxiety, addictions, loss and bereavement, anger management, self esteem, sexuality and gender identity and many others. I also work with clients who want to change, perhaps, their work or careers and I work with many people who are simply feeling stuck, stuck in a rut and want to free themselves.
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and as part of my private practice I work at the Heeler Centre in Hassocks; If you're feeling like you'd like to explore how therapy might help you change please check my website, jonhendersontherapy.comfor further details or call me, confidentially, on 07470 785725.
