Counselling / Psychotherapy

Counselling can best be described as “talking therapy” or “psychological therapy”. It involves talking with Marilyn about your concerns, and will help you deal with your thoughts and feelings. Counselling will offer you a confidential, non-judgemental place to discuss any issues that may be concerning you.

Counselling with Marilyn can help with numerous problems including addictions, depression, anxiety, anger, low self–esteem, eating disorders, abuse and  relationships.

People have counselling for many different reasons. Perhaps you have had one significant event that you feel has affected you negatively or you simply want to improve a close relationship in your life. Whatever the reason talking to someone who is a skilled and experienced counsellor will help you to feel more in control of your life, feel less isolated and lonely, feel better about yourself and more valued and finally help you to consider different options and discover your own solutions.

Counselling sessions could be as few as one or two or more depending on what you need and each session is 50 minutes, usually weekly. As part of our work together we will regularly review how you think counselling is helping you.
